Our wildlife control company therefore specializes in making repairs to your home after removing the pests. We even help install new fences and make other improvements to keep your home free of future pests. We always start our work by checking every inch of your home for any signs of damage, and we also make sure to investigate the most commonly damaged parts of a home. Our trained and licensed professionals then remove the pests using traps and other methods. We then focus on repairing the holes in your walls, wires, ducts, and any torn insulation. Mercer County wildlife control Tip of the Month:

What to do about a wild animal on the roof?
Animals are quite adventurous and this often gets them in trouble. One such trouble is when they jump up to places and are unable to get back down. One such place is the roof. Animals can easily get stuck on your roof and you can do nothing about it except to help them get back down. The first thing you need to do is see if they are in good shape. If the wild animal is not injured, then you can bring a log or a plank of wood. Now, you need to place it in such a manner that it touches the edge of the roof. The wild animal can jump onto the plank and then get down easily. Sometimes, if the wild animal is too small or timid, it might be hesitant to jump on the wood. Then, you can wear thick protective gloves and all other necessary clothing before catching the animal in your arms as it jumps. Make sure you have a blanket wrapped around your arms so the animal can make a safe landing. This can be a bit tricky but as long as you are careful everything is going to go great.

Birds
It is common for birds to land on roofs but the good thing is that they do not cause a lot of nuisance. They leave behind their droppings which is unsanitary and unflattering to the eye but does not cause much disruption. It is advised to take steps that will reduce their presence on your roof. You can stop them from landing on your roof by fixing up a weather vane. This amongst other devices can be used to scare away all birds so that they don’t land on your property again. Bats are another creature that you can often find in the roof’s cavity as it is an ideal place to nest because of the warmth and security. You can remove the nest and install a one-way door to make sure that the bats are not on your roof again.

Injured wild animals
Sometimes wild animals that land on your roof are severely injured and could use some assistance. This assistance should not come at the cost of your safety. You should be incredibly careful while handling injured wild animals as they carry diseases and you can get infected. Thus, the best thing to do is to catch the animal while wearing all protective gear and make sure it lands on the towel. If it is too injured to move, you can pick it up yourself. After the wild animal is with you, take it to the vet as soon as possible so that it can be checked for its injuries. You can even contact a wildlife rehabilitator and they would be happy to help you by nursing the wild animal back to health.

Take steps to prevent entry
Instead of worrying about how to get rid of animals from the roof, it is much more beneficial to focus on how their entry can be minimalized so that the issue is solved from its root.
1. If any branches lead directly to your roof, you should trim them so that they do not lead to your roof.
2. You can use a squirrel guard to avoid any wild animal from climbing up trees. It is a metal sheet that surrounds the tree’s trunk and makes it nearly impossible to climb the tree.
3. Downspouts can also be used by wild animals to make an entrance so you can use a protective collar so animals like raccoons are unable to enter.
4. Remove or trim any vegetation that can be used to climb the roof. Usually climbing plants provide easy access onto the roof and should be trimmed or fully removed.

If you follow these steps, wild animals will have a hard time climbing your roof. So, install these and take preventative measures to avoid stressful situations regarding wild animals on your roof.
